American/British/Continental, 19th and 20th centuries, including: post Civil War surgeon's kit, label "Manufactured/by/J.H. Gemrig/109 Sthÿ8th St./PhiladA", in brass mounted wood box with hinged lid opening to several felt lined divided compartments containing various surgical tools, with key, 2-1/2 x 8-3/4 x 5-1/4 in.; Coryllos Thoracoscope in hinged wooden case with various tools, sliding plaque marked "American Cystoscope Makers/Frederick C. Wappler President/New York, N.Y...." over interior compartment, 5-3/4 x 16-1/2 x 5-1/4 in.; box of assorted medical tools, including shears, syringes, kit of "Dr. Pedro Gomez-Llueca" marked "Buenos Aires/Philadelphia-New York" and "Simpaticoterapia", and others
surgeon's kit with minor wear, interior felt divider panel does not stay in place, so tools in upper case do not stay in place when closed, tools generally good with some dirt/residue accretion, minimal corrosion;ÿthoracoscope with wiring clipped, presumably not functional, surface dirt layer and accretion, light corrosion to metal elements; assorted tools with scattered surface wear and abrasions, dirt/residue accretion, some rust and corrosion
Condition
Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
