Two woodblock prints: Kazumi, edition 10/100, dated "1996", artist's signature and seal lower right, 14 x 9 in.; Haru no Shimo (Spring Frost), edition 24/200, dated "1988", artist's signature and seal lower right, 17-7/8 x 11-7/8 in.; modern wood frames, 19 x 14 in. and 21-1/4 x 15-1/2 in.

Note: Iwao Akiyama studied at the Taiheiyo Art School and under notable printmakers Shiko Munakata and Un'ichi Hiratsuka. He is most well known for his striking prints of birds, cats, and other animals.

Provenance: The Yoseido Gallery, Tokyo, Japan, sold June 2001 for 20,000 (Spring Frost, accompanied by copy of receipt); Private Collection

Condition

good overall; Kazumi tacked in at one corner, lightly toned; Haru no Shimo hinged in on mat, some handling creases; frames with light wear and abrasions

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
