Dancer Japanese, 1950, dramatic [Noh] figure of [Oni] or devil in [itt?bori] style carving that leaves surface traces of the chisel blade, with artist signature carved in base, in signed [tomobako] with artist name [Shofu], box 10 x 7-1/2 x 6 in.. Condition: good condition. Notes: A pen note on the bottom from Prof. Bennett reads “Noh Dancer Doll Nara – June – 1950”.
