Revolutionary Engraved Powder Horn and Accoutrements
American, 1775, the horn engraved "Abijah Parmenter his horn made on Winter Hill in Charleston Octob the 13 1775 Lebty", decorated with three-masted sloop of war [Lively,] a fort, cat, one-masted sailing vessel, stags, with wood cap within a zigzag edge, engraved at Winter Hill Fort, 13-1/4 in.; with a leather pouch and strap, shot bag, bone-handled pen knife, wood-handled sheath knife, wrought iron rattail spoon, lead bar fragment or bullet mold, bag of powder also signed with names Reuben Johnson and Joseph Parmenter. Condition: extensive wear to leather pouch, shot bag, knife scabbard, and ends of woven strap. Notes: The Winter Hill Fort is closely associated with the Battle of Bunker Hill..
