Offering the second group of objects from the collection of the late William Arnett, Atlanta, Georgia, to include over 100 pieces of carved jade, now held by the Tinwood Foundation. From other private collections, items to include over 50 pieces of carved jade and Song through Qing dynasties enameled and monochrome glaze porcelains and bronzes. Artwork by Lung Mien, Pang Su Chai and scroll attributed to Huang Yongyu as well as a group of five Qing dynasty watercolors of fish. Two carved marble Guanyin with Christies provenance and a carved figure with Ralph Chait provenance.

Red Lotus, 1981, signed in Chinese script on exterior of scroll "Made by Huang Yongyu", with artist's chops, ink and color on paper, 46-1/2 x 48 in.; scroll, approximately 102-1/2 x 53 in.

Exhibited: Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham, Alabama, possibly as an endnote for Deities, Emperors, Ladies, and Literati: Figure Painting of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, April 11-June 15, 1987, No. 1987.70 (a facsimile of the loan documents accompany the lot). The colophon read, "If someone claims this is a traditional (Chinese) painting, I would not answer in affirmation. 1981" It does not appear in the catalog of the exhibition

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
