Note: Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas (born after 1850) was a 19th-century artist specializing in horse paintings. He settled in Rugby in 1878 and worked from a studio there. Lucas exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and was commissioned to paint racehorses and equestrian portraits, often in pairs, with the horse's name and date inscribed. His work, which is documented at the Courtauld Institute's Witt Photographic Archives, is similar in style to that of Alfred Munnings.
