Jesus Christ the Good Shepherd, limewood, 34-1/4 in. (with new base), pest damage, formerly painted. added pigment, replaced base, feet and staff, losses to digits. Notes: Professor Claus von Manteuffel states "... What does not let go of the viewer the soulful expression of the shepherd. He shows soul and character of the figure of Christ. He dives into sensations that the figure triggers in him and are true to the ideal of a spiritual shepherd kindness, patience, understanding...According to their art historical significance, the figure of Christ today along with other Zümfiguren are the high-level focus of the museum in the Kornhaus…"
