American, early 20th century, reverse painted shade of forest landscape with "chipped ice" textured exterior, interior signed "Handel 5664" and "HB", impressed on collar, "Handel Patd. No 979664", resting on three socket lotus form patinated bronze lamp base, impressed "HANDEL" on underside, overall 24-1/2 in., diameter of shade 18 in. - Provenance: Private Collection, Sarasota, Florida
two small casting flaws (slight separation of seams) at foot, scattered oxidation to lamp, a few flea nicks to edge of shade, small blemish or flaw on shade where it appears the glass has slightly lifted (probably as made), not visible when lamp is lit
