British, 20th century, commemorating the 1914 retirement of the H.M.S. Prometheus of the Royal Navy, depicts the story in Greek mythology of Hercules rescuing Prometheus from the bird that tormented him daily, bas relief, wood mounted, "Tampion 1898" on verso, marking the year of the ship's maiden voyage, with device for hanging, bronze 7-1/2 in., with wood mount 10-3/4 in.
