Chinese, possibly ancient, finely carved with extensive calcification to blade, design in two sections with carved handle depicting two entwined birds and ending in a simplified tiger mask, pommel in form of flat circular [bi], raised center running length of blade, 13-3/8 x 1-1/2 in.; accompanied by a tracing and drawing notations thought to be from a curator at the Freer and Sackler Galleries, Washington, DC appears to be in good condition with calcification to both sides.
