Side Chair British, mid 18th century, shell, rosette and leaf carved crest, oak leaf and acorn carved legs on well-carved ball and claw feet, rich old patinated surface, 38-1/2 in.. Provenance: Private Collection, Weaverville, North Carolina cracks and later pinning at joint of seat rails to rear stiles with distress and repairs to knee returns, minor crack at top of splat (finish distress from tape now removed), minor crack at one rear stile
