British, probably 18th century, with scrolled crests over pierced splats, scrolled arms and lion's paw feet, 38 x 72 x 24 in. - Provenance: Property from a duPont Family Estate, Charlottesville, Virginia
side rails with unexplained plugged holes (current arms appear to have good integrity but holes remain unexplained, see detailed photos), seat blocking replaced, some patches and repairs to front seat rail, some sun fading at one side, minor cracks at arm attachments to rear stiles, some shrinkage cracks to rear splats, break and screw repair at top of one rear stile, probably original slip seat, modern upholstery generally good
