Boggs dated January 14, 1876, regarding work in universities in the South, including Virginia Tech, University of Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Johns Hopkins; together with seven personal letters from Mary Custis Lee to Elizabeth McCall Symington, a relative of General W. R. Boggs, only three of which are dated (August 17, 1871; November 25, 1871; April 4, 1872), 7-3/4 x 4-3/4 in. to 9-3/4 x 7-3/4 in., all are in very good condition. Provenance: By descent in the Sprunt and Taylor families of Wilmington and Winston Salem, North Carolina
