Woman Studying Manuscripts, Boston, 1881, signed on left page of illuminated book "Boston/Anno/1881/by George von Hoesslin", oil on canvas, 32-1/2 x 42-1/8 in.; modern gilt wood frame, crackle, lined and restretched on old stretcher, retouch throughout affecting less than 10% of surface; frame with abrasions. Notes: Von Hoesslin's family immigrated from Germany to American in 1856. After receiving education in the States he returned to Munich and studied under Wilhelm Lindenschmit (1829 -1895). 1880 marked his return to Boston, Massachusetts.. Provenance: Private Collection

Condition
Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser’s risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges.
