English, late 18th/early 19th century, brass and metal dial with engraved Roman numerals, marked "Sarjent/Jermyn St./St. James", with date aperture and strike silent mechanism, surrounded by gilt scrollwork corner appliques, set in mahogany case with hinged glass front panel with gilt bronze caryatid and floral appliques, hinged glass back panel opening to works, engraved backplate, gilt bronze bracket feet, finials, and handle, 20-1/2 x 13 x 8 in.
