British, late 18th century, top with highly figured segmented veneers with satinwood banding, over two long drawers, flanked by two deep drawers (one fitted with a lift out box), and further flanked by two cabinet doors, all set with highly figured veneers and light wood inlay, set on brass casters, 37-1/2 x 74-3/4 x 31-1/2 in.Provenance: label attached reads "Major John S. top with typical warping, cracks and veneer distress (top reset and with later braces at underside), brasses replaced, legs appear to be ended out and casters likely replaced, other scattered repairs and possible alterations˜
