British, late 18th century, figured mahogany with rich, reddish brown color, fitted desk interior with five drawers, four graduated long drawers, dovetailed construction with oak linings, original bracket feet, 40-1/2 x 37-1/4 x 21-1/2 in. - Provenance: Private Collection, Connecticut
good condition overall, brasses replaced, scattered finish wear and distress with some areas of discoloration, especially at top and case sides, patch at top edge of fall board (lock replaced), original feet with wear and minor repairs
