British, late 18th century, engraved arched silvered dial marked "CHA. Walker/Preston" and "Tryall/Rider/Manchester 1741", broken arch hood with gilt rosettes and eglomise panels, waisted case with cluster columns and figured veneers, three weights and pendulum, 108 in.ÿNotes that accompany the clock indicate that Charles Walker of Preston likely rebuilt the quarter chiming train. He also likely removed a rocking figure where there is now the replaced moon phase. - Provenance:

restorations and repairs, dial resurfaced, likely lacking a rocking figure in dial, finials replaced, cracks and later braces at backboards, typical veneer checking and scattered repairs, works and case probably a good match (case uprights fitted with later braces/supports), probably original feet with some repairs and later blocking
