British, probably mid 18th century, upper case with dentil molded cornice over open fretwork frieze, single door with blind fretwork moldings, large distressed mirror pate with carved and gilt surround, lower case with carved moldings and blind fretwork canted corners centering a fitted desk drawer over three long drawers, on bold, ogee bracket feet, rich, dark color, 85-1/2 x 39-1/4 x 22 in.
Provenance: The Important Private Collection of a Rocky Mountain Couple
some losses to open fretwork frieze (some pieces off but present), distressed mirror plate possibly original but not removed for exam, lacking shelves, side cornice moldings extended approximately 2 inches at back, probably original feet and most blocking, patches and repairs at hinges to fallboard for desk, some finish spotting at top of lower case, other scattered restorations and repairs (secondary surfaces with later varnish making clear assessment challenging)
