Clown, 1992, signed upper right and inscribed "For Baby Matt, Love/Condo/92..", oilstick on green paper, 12 x 9 in.; green painted wood frame, fingerprints, not removed from original frame; frame with abrasions. Notes: George Condo, a figurative abstract artist, was closely associated with Andy Warhol’s Factory which included artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Condo raised controversy with a work exhibited at the Tate Modern of Queen Elizabeth and titled [Cabbage Patch Queen.] His work is included in many museums throughout the world including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York and others. This delightful drawing was a gift to the newborn child of friends..
