Note: In the early 1950s, under the inspiration of Peggy Guggenheim, master glass blowers were brought together with artists such as Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Marc Chagall, Jean Arp, Le Corbusier, Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso, who eagerly provided drawings to be interpreted in glass. These master glass blowers formed what became known as the Fucina Degli Angeli or the "Furnace of Angels". Artists working during this period included Aldo Bon, Albino Carrara, Luciano Ferro, Ermanno Nason, and Galliano Ferro.Galliano Ferro formed his own glass factory in 1955 after leaving Arte Vetraria Muranese, or AVEM (A.Ve.M.), which he co-founded in 1932 with Antonio Ferro, his sons, Egidio and Ottone, and Emilio Nason.
