Tournai, France, second quarter 16th century, foreground depicting a falconing scene within wooded landscape, at center, a lady on horseback, led by a page, at her right, a gentleman holding a falcon, gentleman on horseback, and other attendants holding horses and hounds, in the distance at left, two attendants with staffs lead hounds, at upper right, an attendant with a spear and sword and a falcon in flight, the background shows a medieval hunting lodge and chateau, border with large scale floral and fruit motifs, including irises, roses, lilies, apples, and squash, narrow burlap strapping and webbing around all four edges, 144-1/2 x 135 in. (12 ft 1/2 in. x 11 ft. 3 in.)

good overall color, small holes to woman's face and robe on far upper right, overall scattered surface losses and probable repairs, possible repair to the foot of red robed figure lower center, separations to panel and border at top center, possible restorations to approximately two feet of lower portion, old burlap lining to border and center of tapestry verso
