Tournai, France, second quarter 16th century, foreground depicts hunting scene within a stand of trees, wolf with his mate and three suckling cubs are attacked by three hounds and three hunters, the first with a crossbow, the second with a three pronged spear, the third with a broad bladed spear with a crossbar, two other hunters, one with a three pronged fork, the other blowing a horn, background shows a Medieval chateau and a group of three falconers - a gentleman and lady on horseback and a man luring two birds in flight, border depicts large scale floral and fruit motifs, including irises, roses, lilies, apples, and squash, 126 x 130-1/2 in. (10 ft. 6 in. x 10 ft. 10-1/2 in.)
