circa 1625, Franz van den Planken/Francois de La Planche, 1573-1627 and Marc Comans, 1563-1644, after designs by Henri Lerambert, circa 1550-1610 and possibly Laurent Guyot, ca. 1575-after 1644, depicting Roman civic ceremony with the consul Cominius confers the name of Coriolanus upon the young soldier Caius Marcius who is wearing a crown of oak leaves, battle scene in the background may represent the siege of Corioli, elaborate frame style border with acanthus leaves, masks, and cameos, and mounted soldiers at center top and center bottom, Paris mark at bottom right selvage; weaver's mark of Franz van den Planken/Francois de La Planche at lower right selvage, stamps of Francesco and Antonio Barberini and “Antonio Barberini” written in ink on reverse, 150 x 150 in.
