Delmas notes that "these were ordered and delivered to the Emperor Napoleon by Jacob Desmalter, who was Master Cabinet Maker for the French Empire under Napoleon. This armchair dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and it bears, on the back stretcher, a Chateau Stamp and a National Palace stamp that cannot be identified, due to a small repair, but still retains the National Palace's inventory number"..
