early 20th century, horned steer-head finial over central post supporting two brass balance scales, circular 5-1/2 in. and 15 in. pans hung by brass chains, oval base inset with weights 5 kg. to 5 grams, 61-3/4 x 40 in., lacking smallest weight, lacking pin holding large balance scale, finial on small balance scale possibly replaced. Notes: A similar scale sold at Christie's Interiors Sale, November 1-2, 2011, lot 444.
