(New Jersey/Germany, 1844-1912) A pair of steamer ships: White Star Line's [Oceanic], Cunard Line's [Aurania], both identified on the bow, one signed lower left "Fred Pansing", oil on card, with one a visible portion of a travel poster "[...Royal Mail Steamer]", 14 x 8-1/2 in.; original matching 19th century gilt wood and composition frames,. Condition: lined with wax and linen, some retouch, crackle. Notes: The White Star Line was established in England in the 19th century. It is best known for the Olympic class ship the RMS [Titanic]. In 1934 the White Star Line merged with its rival, Cunard Line.. Provenance: Private Collection
