Bag and Fire Club Rules and Regulations
Massachusetts, 19th century, black-painted leather bucket with applied badge inscribed "FRANKLIN" with initials "C.M.J." below, 11-1/2 in. to top of rim; canvas bag stenciled "NAUMKEAG" and inscribed "N. JACKMAN", 44 x 27 in.; "Rules and Regulations of the Naumkeag Fire Club, in the City of Salem" printed in 1878 by Press of the Salem Gazette, 4-5/8 x 3-3/8 in.. Condition: black paint on fire bucket is flaking and one end of handle detached, canvas bag is grimy with some small stains, left edge of booklet is worn and slightly stained.
