Forgiving Father, signed lower right "Frank Wesley" with Japanese stamp, woodcut on paper, 20 x 47-1/2 in. (sight); metal frame with Plexiglas, not removed from frame, some handling creases. Notes: Frank Wesley was born in India in 1923 into Christian family with Hindu/Muslim ancestry. This Christian subject matter is beautifully merged with the traditonal artistic expression of Indian culture as well as techniques learned while attending the Kyoto Art University in Japan, 1954 through 1958. After a period of time at the Art Institute of Chicago he returned to India in 1960. He was commissioned to design the urn for Mahatma Ghandhi's ashes.. Provenance: Private Collection
