Mexican Freight Haulers, unsigned, oil on canvas, 28 x 22 in.; dark finished wood frame, 31-1/2 x 25-3/4 in.

Note: Attached verso is a letter of authentication from Steven L. Rose, Biltmore Galleries, Scottsdale, Arizona. The letter is dated October 25, 1990, and discusses this painting as being reminiscent of Johnson's "Mexican Smuggler" of 1923, and "Mexican Nocturne", of 1930.

Biltmore Galleries was founded in Los Angeles 1924 by Charles Marion Russell, Frank Tenney Johnson and six other western artists, and Mr. Rose bought the gallery from those venerable artists in 1964.
