(Koi) Banners Japanese, late 1940s, fabric printed and hand-painted large Boys Day [Koi] banner with primary reds and yellows, 126 x 32 in., [good condition]; paper printed and hand-painted banner in primary black and yellow, 100 x 31 in., [minor tears]; paper printed and hand-painted banner in primary black and oranges, 74 x 26 in., [minor tears]; two similar paper banners printed and hand-painted in primary red and yellows, 100 x 27 in. and 73 x 21 in., [minor tears, residual tape]; all with unread signatures, all with box. Condition: . Notes: Koi banners are flown on Boys’ Day in numbers representing the male children of the family.
