gray and red salt glazed cobalt decorated stoneware jar, stamped "W.H. LEHEW & CO. STRASBURG VA" inside banner, and "1" inside coggle circle, circa 1870, 9-1/2 in.; two "S. BELL & SONS, STRASBURG" stoneware jars, circa 1880s, one straight sided with cobalt decoration, "I" inside coggle circle, 9-3/4 in., one rounded and undecorated, 8-1/2 in.; salt glaze jug with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "CHOLLAR DARBY & CO. CORTLAND", cobalt "2", New York circa 1835 -1839, 12-1/4 in.

glaze voids and anomalies as made, surface wear and abrasions with minor glaze and clay body chips, base edge wear and chips, residue, Lehew jar with 12 in. radial crack around base at angle, 3/4 in. rim chip, other minor rim chips, decorated Bell jar with 3/4 in. rim chip, long curving hairline crack from mid body to rim, other minor chips to rim and interior rim, undecorated Bell jar with 1 in. rim chip, other minor rim chips and abrasions, Cortland jug with rim chips abrasions, abrasion at handle, abrasions to belly of jar, exterior surfaces of jars possibly treated
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
