Union of London Vases and Two Slater's Patent Vases Burslem, England (established 1815), pair baluster form with white flowers and green leafy branches in low relief on natural pale-brown ground punctuated with repeating small impressions of daisy-flowers, green band around neck and brown rims, impressed on bottom Doulton seal, crown and lion, "S647","S6810" and "ART UNION OF LONDON", one incised with artist's initials "LB", 7-3/8 in., [good condition]; tall baluster form vase with leaves in low relief against a natural pale-brown textured ground with wide cobalt-blue bands at top and bottom, impressed on bottom Doulton seal, crown and lion, and "DOULTON/& SLATERS/PATENT" and "6763" with incised artist's cypher, 14 in., [good condition]; footed baluster form vase with cobalt-blue peonies in low relief on caramel colored leafy branches on natural pale-brown textured ground with wide cobalt-blue band at bottom and brown rims at top and foot, impressed on bottom Doulton seal, crown and lion, T567", and incised artist's cypher, 12-3/8 in., [large chip under foot and chip at base]. Notes: John Slater (1844 - 1914) was the Art Director at Doulton & Co. Burslem from 1887 until his death in 1914. He was a painter for Doulton and also was involved in the development of many of the special glazes used by the pottery and for a number of patents relating to transfer printing from photographic plates onto ceramics. The ware marked "DOULTON & SLATERS PATENT" was made by use of a decorative technique in which fabrics were impressed into the surface of clay.. In house shipping.  Brunk Auctions provides in-house shipping via UPS Ground (signature required) for many items. Brunk Auctions will provide a shipping quote which includes shipping, materials, labor and insurance.  Insurance is based on the selling price and premium.

In order to provide an accurate shipping quote please provide the following:

  • Shipping method: if you have a UPS or Fed Ex account # we can bill your account 3rd Party and you can arrange payment for materials, labor and insurance.  If you have your own insurance please send a signed waiver of liability.

Shipping arrangements are made only after the invoice is paid.  The payment for shipping is a separate charge from payment of your lots.

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North  Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
