Offering items from two family collections acquired in China in the early 1900s. One from Dr. Stanley Burns, who worked in China to provide much-needed medical care to the local population. The other group from L. Nelson and Virginia Bell, who were missionaries in China from 1916 to 1941. Other Chinese and Japanese items from private collections include Qing Dynasty enamel porcelains, bronze and porcelain water droppers, a fine selection of snuff bottles, along with a group of jade figures, bronze Buddhas, furniture, and jewelry.

comprising: one porcelain compote, interior with enamel floral cartouche, exterior with floral and foliate decoration, base with flower and wave pattern, 3-5/8 x 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 in.; one lidded jar, gilt blue and white underglaze border at rim and lid edge, both with enamel landscape scene of scholars, rubber stamp on lid grip, "Tongzhi Nian Zhi" (Tongzhi (1862-74) Period Make) rubber stamp and wax export seal on base, 4-3/4 x 3-5/8 x 3-5/8 in.; one jar lid decorated with enamel floral sprays and bamboo, export stamp on interior, 2-3/8 x 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 in.; famille verte jar decorated with floral sprays and shuangxi (double happiness) cartouches, rubber stamp, export stamp, and Guangdong Cultural Relics Bureau #1 wax export seal on base, 2-5/8 x 4 x 4 in.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
