A pair of portraits said to be from the Douglas/Robinson/Rockefeller family, circa 1810: Portrait of a Lady in a Red Shawl, unsigned, three-quarter length, oil on canvas, 50 x 40 in.; Portrait of a Gentleman in a Red Chair, unsigned, three-quarter length, oil on canvas, 50 x 40 in.; matching period carved gilt wood and composition frames, each 65 x 55 x 4 in.

Note: The consigner suggested that these portraits are related to Douglas Robinson who married Corrine Roosevelt, the sister of president Theodore Roosevelt, Gelston Castle, Herkimer County, New York. It is thought they hung in the castle.
