Japanese, pair of Okinawan stringed instruments, first of simple carved form with [Habu] cover to bamboo head, with old decal label, 27 x 5-1/2 in., [minor nicks and dents], second with elaborate decoration of etched abalone inlay of opposing phoenix in pearl and cloud background to coconut head, grape leaf and vine motif to handle, pierced carp design to head, with similarly elaborate string bow, instrument 30 x 6-1/2 in., [minor nicks and dents;] bow 27 x 1-1/4 in.,[minor nicks and dents]; two ceremonial display drums, one lacquered, with bronze handles, each 7 x 7-1/2 in., [losses to lacquer, minor nicks and dents].
