Box American, early 19th century, octagonal form, cover with wooden hinge, landscape scene transfer decoration, open interior, arched front with lovers in a garden below mother-of-pearl inset escutcheon, floral side columns, sides with country landscapes and a cathedral ruin, verso depicting a country house, 5-1/4 x 6 in., extensive surface wear and some scratches to cover, case age darkened with minor scratches to left side above church spire, lid does not fit well, back panel with extensive surface wear, lacking foil liners.
