British, early 18th century,  highly figured veneers throughout, with ogee map drawer over a fall front opening to a finely fitted interior, with central prospect door opening to three interior drawers, and surrounded by 14 additional drawers and three hidden drawers, velvet lined writing surface, the lower case with four conforming long drawers, fine gilt and engraved brass pulls and escutcheons throughout, 65 x 38 x 20 in.

Condition

excellent condition overall, typical veneer cracks, separations, scattered repairs and minor losses, some shrinkage to fall board, areas of slight sun fading, interior with three small molding losses, appears to retain original brasses and escutcheons (one small interior drawer with replaced pull), one backboard repaired, two upper side moldings probably restored, scattered minor pest damage, other scattered minor repairs and surface flaws consistent with age and use, possibly original feet
