Inlaid Walnut Tall Case Clock attributed to Valley Virginia, 1790-1810, scrolled arched pediment with carved rosettes and a vine-inlaid frieze, painted dial with floral spandrels and calendar wheel, brass eight-day movement, waisted case with fluted quarter columns, paneled base with fluted quarter columns and shell patera inlay on heart and shell-inlaid central panel, ogee bracket feet, yellow pine backboard, old dry varnished surface with rich dark brown color, with pendulum and weight, 96 x 19-1/2 x 11-1/2 in., dial with crackle, scattered flaking and points of retouch, one finial plinth probably replaced, minor cracks at one swan's neck and at door frame, one glazed side panel cracked, door hinges and lock replaced, original feet and most blocking with scattered repairs including 1/2 in. face patch at one rear facing, scattered minor finish losses and abrasions, period saddleboard (probably a good match).
