possibly middle Tennessee, 1810-1825, seven dovetailed drawers with probably original brass pulls and four doors, highly figured veneers, dovetailed construction with poplar secondary, on turned legs, 43 x 76-3/4 x 24 in.Note: This sideboard is documented by MESDA (see file S-11576) and is illustrated in Harsh and Williams, The Art and Mystery of Tennessee Furniture, catalog no. 167. - Provenance: purchased in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, from the Edward Carmack Estate; Private Collection, Nashville, Tennessee
very good condition overall, drawers probably with original brasses (driven through, not removed), cracks, stains, and wear throughout, wear and distress to brasses, doors formerly fitted with brasses now removed, typical veneer cracks and distress, especially to doors, break and repair at one rear leg, some drawers with nailed construction at back (as made), some veneer flaws with areas of infill, other distress
Condition
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
