British, 1760-1780, each with shell-carved serpentine crest over pierced splat, fine striped silk upholstery with brass tacking, 37-1/2 in., restored with scattered breaks and repairs, one chair with repairs to one rear stile with small associated loss, scattered cracks and repairs to splats, one with later brown stain to splat, crest and rear stiles (breaks and repairs at top of stiles, other possible restorations to splat), modern upholstery generally good condition with minor stains.
