Massachusetts, 1800-1810, unusual tall narrow form, with deeply shaped plum pudding top over a serpentine long drawer, turned and reeded legs with carved basket and foliate tops with star punch work ground, white pine secondary, 36-3/4 x 32-1/4 x 17-1/2 in.
Provenance: Ginsberg & Levy Antiques, New York, purchased June 1970 for $4,250 (accompanied by copy of receipt); Joan B. and James L. Loeb Estateslight scratches and finish wear to top with some minor cracks (top possibly reset), some distress at drawer dovetails, core wood of drawer with one unexplained square hole (does not extend throughÿveneer), legs with good integrity, no repairs found, possibly original brasses (some distress and verdigris)
