Mahogany Cellaret
attributed to Gillows, England, circa 1810, oval hinged top decorated with radiating flutes and central carved finial, lead-lined interior with bottle dividers and central drain tap, case in figured veneers and set with fluted baluster-form supports, reeded legs and brass casters, traces of early finish, underside of frame stamped "XI", 24 x 26-1/2 x 18-1/2 in., scattered veneer cracks at case sides and edges of lid, other veneer flaws, top with minor sun fading, feet probably slightly reduced in height (1 in.?).
