late 18th/early 19th century, found in Anson County, North Carolina, walnut with finely grained yellow pine secondary, four dovetailed drawers, dovetailed case on deeply spurred straight bracket feet, dry black painted surface, 16-1/2 x 14 x 9-3/4 in.

excellent condition overall, old breaks and repairs at rear foot attachments with associated later nailing and minor losses (both slightly loose), scattered minor losses at drawer lips, patch and repair at one case side, one drawer facing with two later nails, dry paint surface appears old but not original with expected wear and distress (see blacklight photos online)
