Walnut Chest on Frame possibly Rowan or Cabarrus County, circa 1800, case with two over three dovetail drawers, yellow pine secondary throughout, double paneled case sides, drawers now set with Sandwich glass pulls, set on original walnut frame with bandy legs and trifid feet, exuberantly shaped front and side skirts, rich historic surface, inlaid kite escutcheons, 55-1/2 x 42-1/2 x 24-1/2 in.; accompanied by the Waters Family Pentateuch (first five books of Moses), published 1828, drawer pulls replaced, excellent original condition throughout, stains and minor warping to top boards, probably some later applied stain/finish, very minor separations at some frame joints, other scattered minor flaws, very minor chips to drawer beading and pulls, minor flaws consistent with age and use. Notes: Herbert Grey Waters was the son of W. H. and Ida F. Waters, who owned the Pentateuch (first five books of Moses) containing Waters family recods..
