Italian, probably 19th century, Grand Tour after the antique, a true pair with one sleeping and one awake on integral plinths, sleeping lion, 19-1/2 x 41-1/2 x 16-1/2 in.; awake lion, 18-1/2 x 41 x 13-1/2 in.
richly weathered patina, very good condition overall, minimal chips at bottom edges of both plinths, surface crack at lower edge of face, sleeping lion; surface crack to proper right side middle of awake lion, approx. from tail to right shoulder
