John Henry Belter, New York, 1855-1860, laminated rosewood in the Arabasket and Cornucopia pattern, elaborately carved with fern, oak leaf, acorn, and floral carving, one retaining upholstery appliques taken from the original upholstery, 39-1/2 in.
Both in good condition overall, with likely original finish with later top varnish, shrinkage cracks to backs with some infill, minor chips to carving, some minor cracks to legs, other minor surface flaws
