probably 19th century, cassolette form of wood and composition, each comprising a round compressed form with pineapple finial, draped in floral swags and supported by three ram masks terminating in hoof feet, mounted on a triangular plinths, each side decorated with oval panels framing miniature paintings of castles and seascapes on paper, 13-1/8 in.; accompanied by copy of invoice from H. Blairman & Sons, London, dated July 4, 1967 for œ390ÿ
losses and some repairs to decoration (especially along bottom of column), scattered hairlines in gilt throughout, losses to gilt surfaces throughout (especially to finial), one miniature painting with large tear, smaller tears, creases, and wear to other miniature paintings, other surface wear and abrasions consistent with age and use
Condition
Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser’s risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
Items purchased from our Asheville auction facility not picked up within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item.
