Patinated Bronze and Marble Clock
French, 19th century, patinated bronze pediment with figure of a scribe on footstool signed on side "Devaulx", and his muse, signed "Gautier Editeur", on a large black marble and bronze plinth-form clock set with classical friezes centering a clock with Roman chapter ring signed "B.A. Frs Gautier", 32 x 18 x 11-3/4 in., frieze with some losses to patination especially at base, clock with losses to Roman numerals at chapter ring, two chips to marble at back, other scattered edge and corner chips to marble with areas of roughness, base currently loose.
