Hand-Painted Marble-Top Cabinet
attributed to Henry Dasson, (French, 1825-1896), variegated rouge marble top over two painted cabinet doors, each with bucolic scenes, shelved and mahogany-lined interior, bold gilt bronze mask-form corner mounts front and back depicting a crowned and bearded satyr, case sides set with hand-painted panels, case in fine original faux porphyry finish, possibly signed (mounts not removed for full examination), 45 x 52-1/4 x 19-1/2 in. break and repair to marble top, very minor warping to door frames and some shrinkage cracks to interior doors, minor abrasions and losses to faux porphyry ground, panels with slight shrinkage and some yellowing of varnish and scattered minor abrasions including at edges near bronze mounts.
